    Op pagina 100 van het boek "survivor Junyo Maru & Pakan Baroe’’ (ISBN: 978-90-79763-23-8) van Willem Punt (overlevende van de Junyo Maru) wordt vermeld dat Leen Sloot en hij te samen aan boord zijn gegaan van de Junyo Maru in de haven van Tandjung Priok.
    Omdat er verder in het boek niet meer gesproken wordt over Leen Sloot neem ik aan dat hij verdronken is op 18 september 1944 en een zeemansgraf heeft.
    De Junyo Maru had 6.520 opvarenden toen het schip op 18 september 1944 door een Engelse duikboot werd getorpedeerd. Daarbij kwamen 5.640 opvarenden om.
