Notes about Klaas Jansz Dekker

Hij werd in de oorlog van 1803 door de Engelsen doodgeschoten omdat hij wei-
gerde zich met zijn vissersboot over te geven; ze waren toen dicht bij Wijk op
Zee (i.b. 's avonds bij sterke mist). De matrozen ontkwamen door uit de boot
te springen; de Engelsen hebben hem buiten boord geworpen en hij spoelde acht
dagen later aan bij Petten (i.b. op het strand achter Bergen aangespoeld).
