Notes about Martinus Aarnoutsz Langevelt

Was lid van de Vroedschap en burgemeester van Beverwijk van 24-8-1756 t/m 21-5-1777. In 1747 vaandrig van het blauwe schuttersvendel. Werd op 28-5-1785 bedreigd door een ingekwartierde dragonder, nadat Martinus hem beschuldigd had van het ingooien van ruiten. Werd regelmatig uitgescholden voor "Kees" (scheldnaam voor patriotten) en vele malen bedreigd en geslagen tijdens inkwartiering, na het herstellen van de macht van de Stadhouder Willem V. In 1798 weer gemolesteerd door een ingekwartierde militair.
