Notes about Nicolaas Gomes

Na de geboorte van het laatste kind vond Aaltje het beter voor de opvoeding van de kinderen om naar een grotere plaats te verhuizen. Ze verhuisden naar Amsterdam waar Nicolaas perronchef werd op het Centraal Station. Op jonge leeftijd werd Nicolaas ziek en moest vervroegd stoppen met werken. Ongeveer gelijkertijd erfde Aaltje een groot bedrag van haar zuster Sjoerdtje. Van dat geld werd een huis gekocht in IJmuiden.
