Notes about Cornelis Albertsz Jaeger

De Jager.
Een gereformeerde familie van zeelieden uit Oosterend, beginnende met Cornelis Albertsz Jaeger (geb. ca 1620), die achtereenvolgens getrouwd
was met Martje Jacobs en Antje Sijts. Jacob Cornelisz Jager, een zoon uit het eerste huwelijk, kreeg in de 18de eeuw vele mannelijke nakomelingen in Oosterend, Nieuweschild, Zevenhuizen en Oost, meest kaagschippers en loodsen.
Jan Pietersz Jager (geb. 1752) was loods in Nieuweschild, doch verhuisde door zijn tweede huwelijk in 1791 naar Den Hoorn, waar hij in 1803 nog een derde huwelijk sloot, met Guurtje Moenis. Uit dit laatste huwelijk werd in 1815 een zoon Pieter geboren, die Pieter Jansz de Jager werd genoemd. Hij werd de stamvader van de latere De Jager's (onder wie de hoogleraar in de astronomie prof. dr. C. de Jager te Utrecht). Alle andere
takken van de familie Jager stierven in de 18de en 19de eeuw uit.
