24 Mei 1881. Bij Klaas Mantje c.s. Ik vond de vrouw in een allerbeklagelijkste toestand van krankzinnigheid in eene ziekenstoel zittende bij hare dochter Trijntje en haar schoonzuster. Zij herkende mij terstond maar terwijl zij mijne hand greep en voorts stevig vasthield raaskalde zij onophoudelijk zoodat ik geen woord kon spreeken. Diepbedroefd zaten die 2 ander vrouwen daarbij, nevens mij. Met moeite gelukte het mij uit hare handen te komen.
Overleden op 30 Mei 1881.
