Jan Sterk, zoon van Gerrit Sterk [lees: Stark] en Guurtje Dros, geboren en wonende Cocksdorp, 24, gehuwd, schulpenvisser, protestant, 1m74, blauwe ogen, blond haar, kan niet schrijven, zat van 26 tot 29 april 1871 gevangen wegens het maken van nachtelijke burengeruchten en bewegingen te Texel.

Op den 20-8-1889, des namiddags omstreeks 3 ½ uur bevond ik PJH Hermens Brig tot den Rijks Veldwacht te De Cocksdorp op Texel mij aan den Burg op Texel en zag aldaar op de openbare straat de persoon genaamd Jan Stark Gz oud omstreeks 41 jaar van beroep Lichtwachter bij de Kustverlichting in den Polder Eyerland op Texel en wonende aldaar
welke persoon in verregaande staat van Dronkenschap verkeerde en wel zoodanig dat hij slingerende langs den weg liep.

Surveillerende bij de beproeving der reddingsmiddelen aan de Koog op Texel, waar onder andere personen zich bevond Jan Stark Gz oud 40 jaar lichtwachter wonende aan de Vuurtoren in den Polder Eyerland op Texel, welke in verregaande staat van Dronkenschap verkeerde en door zijn gedragingen anderen tot aanstoot was, waarom hij door mij aangemaand werd om zich bedaard te houden, waarop hij Jan Stark mij toevoegde de woorden Jij bend een luilak, een beroerde kerel, jij bent te lui als er gestolen wordt dan slaap je, jij bent een mof, een paap en een slechte kerel en andere beledigende uitdrukkingen.
Waarop hij door mij werd aangemaand zich bedaard te houden, doch niettegenstaande dit ging hij voort mij te beledigen, in tegenwoordigheid van Jacob Buys, postschipper, Jan Huisman landbouwer, A Dros winkelier, allen wonende te De Cocksdorp op Texel, getuigen.
