Notes about Jacob Frederiksz Slot

Na het overlijden van de moeder is hij vanaf 14-4 1789 voogd voor Trijntje Gerrits Brouwer, zijn nicht en dochter van Jan Gerritsz Brouwer.
Hij is schipper van een haringschuite (zie not Star 31-5-1781). Met een bemanning van 6 man waaronder Cornelis Jacobsz Kooijman (getrouwd met Trijntje Gerrits Brouwer). Met 4 haringschuiten met bemanning zijn ze op 3 mei 1781 naar de buitengronden bij Eijerland gevaren, waar een galjoot 'De patriot' gestrand was. Deze vervoerde thee, totaal 56 kassen. Met toestemming van de kapitein van het schip Marte Stokman, is deze vracht 's nachts en de volgende dag op Eijerland aan land gebracht. Verder was er niets gevonden of achtergehouden.
Jacob Slot was oud burgemeester van Oosterend; hij wordt in 1791 door de Hoven van Holland geruime tijd in submissie gesteld, veroordeeld, gecorrigeerd en vervallen verklaard van al zijn waardigheden. Dit voor gepleegde strandroverijen. De kerkeraad spreekt daarover volgens notitie in boek Wuis blz 129. Er is ergenis bij de Hervormde kerk; hij werd voorlopig uitgesloten van avondmaal en bediening.
