Uit notarieel 4849 (1735) blijkt dat hij loods was, in notarieel 4855 (1721) is zijn inventaris te vinden i.v.m. zijn aanstaande tweede huwelijk.

Op 2-1-1721 werd hen betoog verleend door de geref. kerk van Den Hoorn om elders te trouwen. De bruidegom werd geassisteerd door zijn stiefvader Cornelis Jans Platvoet, en de bruid door haar moeder Pleentje Isbrants. Na hun huwelijk vestigden ze zich in Den Hoorn, waar ze in 1749 nog woonden.
