Schepen van Poortugaal 1607/14, schout van Poortugaal 1614/58, schepen/hee mraad van Roozand. In zijn tijd met 36'000 pond de rijkste boer van het ei land IJsselmonde, voornamelijk vanwege het vermogen van zijn vrouw. Landbo uwer op de waarschijnlijk door hem gestichte hofstede "de hooge werf" a an de Kerkstraat te Poortugaal (later ten onrechte "het Jagdhuys van de gr aven van Egmond" genoemd). Van dit pand werd de monumentale bedstede na ar het Museum van Oudheden te R'dam overgebracht. Grafschrift in de kerk v an Poortugaal: "HIER LEIJDT BEGRAVEN WILLEM HEIJNDERICKSZ. HOOGEWORF IN SI JN LEVEN GHEWEEST SCHOUT VAN POORTEGAEL ONTTRENT 44 JAAREN ENDE IS GHESTOR VEN OP DE 15en MEIJ INT JAAR ONS HEERE 1658 OUDT SIJNDE 79 JAAREN ENDE 4 M AANDEN". Boven de tekst in een grote circel 2 wapens: I (manswapen) 3 kete lhaken, II (vrouwswapen in een ovaal) een dubbelkoppige adelaar.(fo to in de Nederlandsche Leeuw, 1989: 88)
