De weduwe van Ubel Fockes (de vader van Focko) plaatst een advertentie, samen met haar tweede echtgenoot Wessel Geerts op 4 Februari 1755 in de "Opregte Groninger Courant", welke luidt :
"Wessel Geerts en vrouw bieden in een openbare verkoping op 14 februari 1755 bij weduwe Hugo ter Spill te Hoogezand aan : haar welgeleegen timmerwerven, een lange en een dwars helling met een behuyzinge, staande en geleegen tusschen Martenshoek en Foxhol, zoo door wijlen Ubel Fockes lange jaaren met groot succes is bearbeid, alsmeede nog een half getimmert nieuw schip, zijnde 72 voeten lang".
De koper van deze werf is zijn zoon Focko Ubels.
