Wilhelm Veltrup, hier Willem Veltrop, geboren 2-2-1812 te Emlichheim, trouwde op 1-5-1835 in Gramsbergen met Maria Bos, in Ballast gem. Coevorden geboren op 29-3-1806. Ze woonden eerst in de gem. Dalen en in Slagharen. De overlijdensaangifte van Johannes Haitel (13, pagina 33) op 14-9-1868 werd gedaan door de buren Willem Veltrop, 57 jaar en Willem Vos, 31 jaar, arbeiders in Rundeveen. Het gezin Veltrop heeft in de Maatschappij gewoond, vr 1872 waren ze weer vertrokken. Later waren ze landbouwers in Roswinkelermarke. Maria Bos overleed op 29-11-1881, Willem Veltrop stierf enkele weken later, op 24-12-1881.
Met het huwelijk van hun dochter Johanna Christina was iets merkwaardigs. Op 1-11-1869 trouwde zij in de kerk te Erica met een Bernard Herman Diek. Met die naam staat hij in het trouwboek en is hij jarenlang te vinden in de Burgerlijke Stand. Hier werd nog een kind van hen geboren, toen verhuisden ze naar Ter Apelkanaal. Ook hun volgende drie kinderen werden aangegeven door Bernard Herman, terwijl de pastoor van Zandberg Wilhelm Dik als vader opschreef. Op 19-10-1878 trouwden Johann Wilhelm Dik en Johanna Christina Veltrop in Vlagtwedde, waarbij hun vier kinderen werden gewettigd. Wilhelm Dik werd in Duitsland gezocht als deserteur en had daarom de naam van zijn broer opgegeven.
