Met deze datum zijn in Emmen een rijtje Compascuümers ingeschreven die hier waarschijnlijk al eerder woonden. Misschien had de veldwachter van Emmen een rondtocht gemaakt.
Willem Feringa, geboren op 6-10-1801 te Groningen, trouwde op 7-5-1829 in Twist met Anna Tecla Einhaus (Einhus, Enhus), in Hesepertwist geboren op 9-1-1805.
De geboorte van Feringa was in Groningen niet te vinden. Misschien is hier een naamsverandering in het spel. Er werd op die tijd een Willem Geertsma geboren, de naam van de moeder, Margaretha Wilken, is gelijk aan wat Feringa opgaf.
Bij hun trouwen gaf Feringa kleermaker als beroep op, later was hij daar Hausling, dat is arbeider met een klein boerenbedrijfje.
Ze hebben lang in Adorf bij Twist gewoond. Daar woonden ze nog toen Feringa op 4-6-1864 een deel van plaats 32 pachtte met de verplichting van woningbouw voor 1-5-1865.
Toen ze naar hier kwamen waren er nog twee kinderen bij hen thuis en een kleinzoon Gerhard Wilhelm (Veringa). Twee zoons woonden toen in Hebelermeer, één ervan, Hermann Heinrich Otto (34, pagina 52), kwam hetzelfde jaar ook naar hier, een dochter was gehuwd in Slagharen.
Willem Feringa (soms Veringa) woonde later in Zwartemeer. Anna Tecla Einhaus overleed op 3-5-1879, Willem Feringa op 28-1-1891. Het zijn de voorouders van veel katholieke Feringa's en Veringa's.
