Mrs. Smit was born October 29, 1887 in Siddeburen, Holland, a daughter of Uuldrick and Pietreke Boekweg. She was married to Jacob Smit March 27, 1907, in the Salt Lake Temple. She came to America in 1902. She was a member of the LDS Harrisville Ward and member of the Relief Society. Surviving are her husband, three sons and a daughter, William W. Smith, Harrisville; Jacob Smith, North Ogden; George Smith, Ogden; Mrs. John (Jennie) Cevering, Ogden; 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, two brothers and a stepsister, Heiko Boekweg, Riverdale; Uuldrick Boekweg, Morgan; Miss Rhea Poulter, Ogden. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1 p. m. in Lindquist and Sons Colonial Chapel with Bishop Leland R. Saunders of the Harrisville Ward officiating, Friends may call at the mortuary Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday prior to the services. Burial in Ogden City Cemetery.
