    Carlene was born May 24, 1929 in Ogden, Utah. She was the eldest daughter of Carl Wilson and Grace Kapp Slater.

    Carlene graduated from Weber High School, where she was honored for her music ability.

    On September 15, 1948 she married William Richard "Bill" Williams. They made their lives together living on a farm located in the beautiful valley of Tabiona, Utah. There they were blessed with seven children. They were later divorced.

    After retiring from Duchene County School District as a Librarian and bus driver, Carlene moved back to her beloved Ogden. There she became actively involved in LDS temple work. It was here she met her eternal companion, Richard A. "Dick" Dame. They were married and sealed in the Ogden Temple June 5, 1993.

    Their life together was filled with 24 hours of joy and happiness. Always together whether they were doing church service, yard work, gardening, enjoying their grandchildren, fixing up their homes in Ogden and St George where they spent the winters. They were happy and grateful they were together.

    Carlene was an active member in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served faithfully in numerous ward and stake positions. She served four missions, a proselyting mission in the Tennessee area, a Humanitarian mission in St. George, Utah and as a ordinance worker in the Hawaiian and Ogden temples. Each calling deepened her testimony of the gospel which she shared by example of righteousness and womanhood to those she met and those who knew her.

    Carlene was a precious Mother and Wife. She provided a foundation of love, service, support and forgiveness to her family and friends.

    She is survived by her husband Richard "Dick" Dame, her siblings Delores and Al Magazu, Kent and Pam Slater, Carl Jay and Trudy Slater and the following sons and daughters and Step Children: Sherie and Russ Carter ( Clearfield, Utah) Richard "Rick" and Susan Williams (Sparks, NV), Tracy Williams (Bluebell, Utah), Lori and Doug Bennett (Kaysville, Utah) Jody and Elwin Sagers (Beaver, Utah), Mike and Maureen Dame (Bonsil, CA) Patty and Bill Henderson (St. George, Utah) and Bruce Dame (No. Salt Lake, Utah) 32 grandchildren and 49 great grandchildren.

    Those who welcomed her to her heavenly home were two sons, Billy-Todd Isaac and Cory Slater Williams, her parents Carl Wilson and Grace Kapp Slater and many Aunts, Uncles and cousins. The family wishes to express thanks and appreciation to the staff and administration at Thatcher Brook Rehab in Clearfield, Manor Care Rehab in So. Ogden and Ogden Regional Medical Center.

    Funeral services will be held on Wednesday August 25th at 11:00 am at the Pleasant Valley Ward, 850 E. 5640 S. Ogden, Utah. A viewing will be held on Tuesday August 24th from 6-8 pm at Leavitt's Mortuary, 836 36th Street in Ogden and 1 hour prior to the service at the ward.
