Notes about Joannes Arnoldus Stoffels

Werkzaam op het Klooster Koningsbosch. Joannes Arnoldus had de eerste opkomsten in Koningsbosch meegemaakt. De eerste zusters kwamen in zijn levensperiode naar het klooster, waar hij met de ploeg aanwerk had gemaak, samen met een broer. Toen Joannes Arnoldus en Anna Mechtildis in 1924 vijftig jaar getrouwd waren, spande het klooster paard en wagen aan om ze naar de kerk te brengen. Die gelegenheid nam Joannes Arnoldus aan om in de kerk verhaal te doen over het ontstaan en de eerste groei van het klooster, waar  hij nauw bij betrokken was geweest. Voor 1914 was het een armmoedig bestaan in het gebied. Na 1914 ontstonden veel mogelijkheden tot smokkel naar Duitsland, wat de plaatselijk bevolking beter in hun levensbehoeften liet voorzien.
