Volgens het bevolkinsregister Velsen, was zijn vorige woonplaats Duitsland. Op 11 maart 1898 heeft hij zich met gezin in Velsen gevestigd als arbeider, wonende in een keet. Waarschijnlijk woonde hij reeds vóór die tijd in Velsen. Immers, tussen 1891 en 1898 werden 5 kinderen van hem in Velsen geboren. Op 26 januari 1907 ( dit is ongeveer 3 weken na de geboorte van Franciscus) verlaat het gezin de stad Velsen. Kennelijk is er dan al sprake van een scheiding.
Hijzelf en twee kinderen en [57003] vertrekken naar Haarlem, de rest gaat in Delft wonen. (de officiële geboorteplaats van Franciscus is Delft).



De officiële scheiding vindt plaats op 19-1-1917. Op dat moment is hij werkzaam te Amsterdam. In Haarlem huwt hij voor de 2e keer, nu met Antje van der Meij. Er zijn geen kinderen uit dit laatste huwelijk. Antje neemt uit haar vorige huwelijk wel een dochter mee. Deze Anthonia Jacoba van der Hart, geboren op 25 september 1905 huwt op 9 december 1925 met J. Maerten.
