      Toen hij ging trouwen koos hij voor een vaste baan bij de fabriek. Hij bleef wel tuinieren om zijn gezin van groenten te voorzien en als kleine bijverdienste.

Niet lang daarna hebben Toon en Riek een woning gekraakt in de Elburgstraat 17 te Loosduinen. In 1955 verhuisden zij naar de Burgemeester Hovylaan 15 te Loosduinen.
