    David Ruts was aanwezig in het sterfhuis van Dr. Jobus Paludanus toen deze enige tijd voor1630 in Moscovië overleed.
    Olearius - een Duits geleerde - ontmoette in 1637 te Moskou o.a. David Ruts en Balthazar de Moucheron.
    "In 1648 was Coenraad Burgh Albertsz. als gezant te Moskou. Aan hem werd door de Hollandsche kooplieden aldaar een memorie overhandigd, onderteekend o.a. door David Ruts .
    In den winter van 1654 werd aan de vreemde kooplieden onverwacht aangezegd, Moskou te verlaten, hetwelk vooral onaangenaam was voor hen, die er aanzienlijke steenen huizen hadden laten bouwen, met name aan de heeren Ruts, Bernard en van der Hoeven. Omstreeks denzelfden tijd werd er ook door Russische kooplieden over de concurrentie, hun door de vreemde kooplieden aangedaan, geklaagd, in welke klacht men o.a. vindt: "und David Nikolajew (David Ruts) hat sich in Moscau einen Hof gekauft und ein Haus erbaut und verkauft viele Waaren im Detailhandel wie man in den Kaufreihen handelt, ohne deinen Zarischen Ukas und ohne Gnadenbrief” (Dr. C. C. Uhlenbeck Vers ag 1 enz. Achieven in Rusland, bl. 259). Ook wordt nog een brief van den Hollandschen koopman David Ruts van den 5en Augustus 1666 vermeld. Met dezen David Ruts kan ook zijn gelijknamige zoon bedoeld zijn. Ook schijnt David Ruts iets met Venetië uit te staan gehad te hebben, want de Staten-Generaal schreven aan de Signoria aldaar den 1en April 1653 over Caspar Ruts uit naam van David Ruts, nu in Moscovië (Rijks Geschiedk. Publicatien, Dr. K. Heeringa, Bronnen tot de geschiedenis van den Levantschen handel, dl. 1X bl. 84)."
    Het handelshuis David Ruts is na zijn dood blijven voortbestaan; in 1693 hield Czaar Peter de Groote te Archangel zijn verblijf ten huize van Nicolaas Romswinckel, destijds het hoofd van dat handelshuis; deze was een kleinzoon van Susanna Ruts, de zuster van David (Mr. J. Scheltema I.C. 11 bl. 95)
