Profession: griendman; handelaar in biezen, riet en rijshout; bezat ook een rookhuis voor de zalm die hij ving als pachter van de grafelijke visrechten. Zo staat in de jaarrekening uit 1706 van de grafelijkheid: "De visserij en kille binnendijks van 't kort ambacht, mits dat men daar met de lange lijn niet vogelen zal, op 200 roeden na, heeft in het openbaar in pachte genomen Tonis Ariens Bos, voor de tijd van drie jaren, ingaande 1703 om de somme van 130 ponden." En in de jaarrekening van 1721 staat: "De visserije en de steek genaamd Almsvoet met de zalmvisserij van Langambacht enz. heeft Tonis Ariens Bos voor drie jaren gepacht, ingaande 1719, voor 74 pond te 40 groten 't pond 's-jaars."
