    Charles P. Engels, Employe of Telephone Company 40 Years, Passes Away
    Charles P. Engels, 602 Tenth street, died Sunday morning at 4 o'clock after an illness of one year. He was born in Holland in 1875 and came to the United States at the age of 4 years. He had lived in Oshkosh for 25 years.
    Mr. Engels was with the Wisconsin Telephone Company for 40 years, having been engaged as lineman foreman. In that capacity he built many of the lines in this territory.
    He was a member of the Knights of Columbus for more than 20 years and was a member of the Holy Name society of St. John's Catholic church. He was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers.
    FUNERAL WEDNESDAY
    Survivors are his wife; four daughters, Mary Lou, Miami Beach, Fla.; Jane, Betty and Diana of Oshkosh; and two sons, Carl and Edward Engels, Oshkosh. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Marie Curran, Muncie, Ind.; and Miss Gertrude Engels. Pewaukee.
    Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 8:30 o'clock at the Fiss and Bills funeral home and at 9 o'clock at St. John's Catholic church. The Rev. Roland Ahearn will be the officiating clergyman. Interment will be at Calvary cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home until the time of the services. The Knights of Columbus will meet at the funeral home Tuesday evening at 8 o'clock to recite the rosary.
