Johanna Dr. was born on "Hoeve Boogaarlust" in Nieuwe Wetering. She was the twelfth child. Eight of her siblings died at a young age.
She first married with Petrus Klaverweide. His father had in 1729 established a cheese business with warehouses on the Princegracht in Amsterdam and near Gouwsluis in Alphen a/d Rijn.
When Johanna at age 31 married Nicolaas Verkleij 1788-1847 he became (or was already) a partner in the firm Klaverweide & son.
Johanna became very old. When she was 70 years a painting was made of her. On her hand you will see a fly, hence the name "Opoe met de vlieg".
Once the Doctor told her to abstain from coffee because it was a slow poison, she replied, "I didn't know that but that is works so slow is understandable, otherwise I would not have become so old" She died at age 91.
