Elso zat inderdaad in een Joods vluchtelingendorp (St Marie-Vesubie}. We hebben gesproken met een Franse historicus die verbaasd was hoe Elso daar terecht heeft weten te komen omdat alleen Joden daarvoor toestemming kregen. We kwamen er al snel achter via een ander Italiaans document die we hadden. Elso werd daarin gesommeerd om St Marie-Vesubie te verlaten en zich te melden bij de Italiaanse autoriteiten (Caribinieri) in Menton.¬â€
