À l'âge de 30 ans il unit sa destinée à Vincente Desvarieux, fille de Jean et de Marie Chevalier, de Saint-Vincent, d'Aubermail, pays de Caux Normandie. Ils eurent dix enfants. PIerre-Paul est ordonné prêtre à Québec, en 1677, par Mgr de Laval. Ce fut le premier de ce nom et le troisième Canadien à devenir prêtre. Un fille entra chez les Augusti
