Arend Maartensz stichtte in 1624 de hof voor arme vrouwen op de hoek van de Museumstraat en de Kolfstraat te Dordrecht.

Wylen Heer Arend Martensz. Heere van Oost-Barendrecht en Schobbelands-Ambacht, Schepen, &c. En Begiftigd van zijn Ed. derde Huysvrou, Vrou Klementina van Beaumont, Ambachts-Vrouwe van de Kleyne-Lind, &c.
Boven de Poort van dit Gesticht, zijnde van Bentener-Steen, zijn uytgehouwen twee Vrouwen, dragende een Schild, verzien met de Wapenen des Stichters, en zijner Huysvrou. Waar boven staat:

Vita Vapor. dat is 's Leven is een Damp.

Wat hooger op de Kantelen, op en nederdalende,

Naakt Kom Ik,
Naakt Scheyde Ik.

Onder 't Wapen is te lezen:

Dat de Oude Vrouwen haar dragen, gelijk het den Heyligen betaamd, Tit 2.3
