Filips IV van Wassenaer

Philips IV van Wassenaer (circa 1359 - 5 december 1428)[1][2] was een 15e-eeuwse Hollandse edelman uit het huis Wassenaer, die in de Hoekse en Kabeljauwse twisten aan de zijde der Hoeken stond.

Hij was in 1420 burggraaf van Leiden, toen die stad op 24 juni van dat jaar belegerd werd door troepen van Jan van Beieren. Op 17 augustus 1420, na een belegering van twee maanden, gaf de stad zich over aan Jan van Beieren. Burggraaf Philips van Wassenaer werd van al zijn ambten en rechten ontheven en sleet zijn laatste jaren in gevangenschap. Philips IV was een zoon van Dirk III van Wassenaer en Machteld Oem. Hij was gehuwd met Maria van Egmond - een dochter van Jan I van Egmont - met wie hij drie zonen had:
