Loes is op 16 januari 1959 vertrokken en op 12 februari 1959 met het schip de Zuiderkruis aangekomen in de haven van Fremantle in Australie samen met haar man en 2 kinderen ( Arie en Desiree). Loes was op dat moment al 2 maanden zwanger van Nancy


Op 23 oktober 1964 weer met gezin terug naar Nederland gekomen. Het leven in Australië was toch wat tegengevallen
