Het huwelijk met Jacoba Petronella van der Loo is op 25-03-1947 in 's Gravenhage door een scheiding ontbonden.

Willem Dignus is in de vroege ochtend van zondag 19 augustus op de 's Gravelandse weg aangereden door een auto.
Hij heeft daarbij een been gebroken en heeft een schedelbasisfractuur opgelopen.
Tijdens het vervoer naar het ziekenhuis is hij overleden.
