Deelgenomen aan de Pruisische invasie van de Nederlanden op 13-9-1787 om stadhouder Willem V weer in Haagse zadel te zetten. In 1788 in Rotterdam achtergebleven. Hij is in gevechte door een sabelhouw in het gezicht verwond.

      Zinj vrouw Catharina Kroes is enige erfgenaam. Mocht zij eerder overleden zijn dan heeft zijn zoon Johan Hendrik met wie hij de smederij drijft de keuze om voor fl 800 het huis annex smederij en alle gereedschappen over te nemen. waarbij hij direct fl 200 moet voldoen en de overige 600 met fl 50/jaar ten gunste van de overige erfgenamen ( lees broers/zussen)
