    Zij heeft zich, in elk geval sinds 1756, genoemd De Graaff. Het door haar, in een brief aan de burgemeeester van Enkhuyzen, gebruikte familiewapen, zie foto, is waarschijnlijk geïnspireerd door het beroep van haar grootvader, Henri Donzel. Deze studeerde in Nimes en in Amsterdam voor Apotheker en oefende dat beroep uit in Amsterdam. De ster was al in de Griekse oudheid symbool voor gezondheid en kracht en de Eenhoorn symboliseerde genezende kracht en is tot op heden het symbool voor apotheken.
    Elisabeth wilde waarschijnlijk met dit wapen haar plaats tonen in de deftige kringen der Amsterdamse regenten.
