Jacobus Trip, gedoopt te Amsterdam 14 September 1627, twede zoon van Elias Trip en Aeltken Adriaens, liet zich 2 Maart 1640 inschrijven als student math. aan de Leidsche hoogeschool, huwde eerst te Amsterdam 29 April 1652 Elisabeth Bicker, eene dochter van Jan Bicker (oud schepen van Amsterdam) en Agneta de Graaf, en suster van Wendela Bicker, die met den Raad-Pensionaris Jan de Wit is getrouwd geweest, uit welk huwelyk drie dochteren, Aletta Maria, Agneta, en Christina, zyn gesproten. Hij hertrouwde te Amsterdam 20 Februari 1653 met Margaretha Munter aldaar, dochter van Schepen Jan Munter en Margaretha Geelvinck.
Hij was in 1653 kerkmeester van de Oude Kerk, in 1656 regent van het Burgerweeshuis, in 1658 commissaris van huwelijksche zaken, in 1675 kerkmeester van de Nieuwe Kerk.
