Na Haarlem heeft de familie o.a gewoond in Den Haag, Beverninkstraat, van Hoornestraat en Pahudstraat. Na een korte periode in Brussel zijn ze naar de Perenstraat in Den Haag verhuist.

Door de ziekte van zijn vrouw voelde hij zich erg eenzaam en heeft een korte periode gewoond bij zijn dochter Elly (Edwards moeder). Daarna is hij weer terug gegaan naar Den Haag en is bij het halen van melk om de hoek gevallen en kort daarna overleden. (1958)
