ook genoemd Eelke Eelkes de Oude.
In 1748 is Eelke Eelkes op de Grutte Helplaets komen te wonen, huursate nr.458 van de provincie en gelegen in 't Heidenskip te Workum.
Hij is 26 jaar en Grietje 25 jaar. Hij wordt gemeen boer. Zijn huishouding bestaat op dat moment uit 2 personen boven en 2 personen onder de 12 jaar.
Tot 1752 is hij vrijgesteld van het betalen van pacht, maar nadat de sate in dat jaar is verkocht aan kapitein Bavius Nauta (later burgemeester van Workum), moet Eelke 250 Caroli Guldens per jaar betalen.
In 1782 wordt de pacht verhoogd naar 310 Caroli Guldens.
In 1767 is Eelke eigenaar van sate 460 geworden; De Rode hel. Deze sate verhuurt hij voor 382 Caroli Guldens aan Age Wabes, wiens zoon Lieuwe in 1772 trouwt met Jeltje de Jong, het 4e kind van Eelke en Grietje.
Eelke verhuist in 1780, samen met zijn 2e vrouw Tjitske Sierps (Seerps), naar een boerderij dichter bij Workum.

In 1783 zijn Age Wabes, Binte Jelles de Boer te Workum, Pyter Sierps in de Sensmeer, en Tjibbe Jelles te Harich administratoren over de nagelaten boedel van Eelke Eelkes, dan "de oude" genoemd.
