Nils Rurenga, die rechten studeerde, stierf na een kort ziekbed. In verband van zijn overlijden heeft de Leidse studentenvereniging de Verenigingsrouw aangenomen. Ook werd het Oud & Nieuw Feest afgelast.
Rurenga was als praeses het gezicht van de studentenvereniging. Verder was hij zijdelings betrokken bij de Amsterdam Dakar Challenge van de actie voor 3FM Serious Request.
