Maria Hofker-Rueter (Sloten (Amsterdam), 4 juli 1902 - Amsterdam, 16 december 1999) was een Nederlands kunstenaar.
Zij aquarelleerde en tekende, was grafisch ontwerper en kreeg naam met de op haar volkstuin geschreven tuin-jaarboeken.
Uiteindelijk werden het 38 jaarboeken, door haar zelf in leer gebonden banden met goudstempels in handdruk versierd.
In deze boeken (ook met tekeningen) beschreef zij wat zij in haar tuin zag en op haar reizen beleefde.

De bouw van deze boot, van de Atlantic 75 klasse, is mogelijk gemaakt door een gulle schenking aan de KNRM.
De reddingboot Maria Hofker werd zaterdag 31 januari 2004 gedoopt door mevrouw M.J. Zoethout, de executeur-testamentair van mevrouw Hofker.
De aanschaf van de reddingboot werd bekostigd uit een erfenis van mevrouw Maria Hofker.
Van deze erfenis is ook een bootwagen en truck aangeschaft.
