Notes about Cornelis Ongers

In 1877 koopt Cornelis Ongers, een kleermaker, geboren in Weesp in 1834, het pand Nieuwstad 64 van een horloge maker Jacob Matthijs Carels. Hij is getrouwd met Louisa Zeddeman en heeft twee zoons van 15 (Pieter) en 11 jaar (Willem). In 1884 overlijdt zijn vrouw. De twee zoons gaan daarna al snel het huis uit. De oudste vertrekt naar Abcoude en de jongste trouwt en vestigt zich als kleermaker, later manufacturier, uiteindelijk aan de Nieuwstraat. Cornelis hertrouwd in 1886 met Johanna Pelgrim, en krijgt met haar een zoon die naar zijn vader Cornelis wordt genoemd. Vader Cornelis overlijdt 13 oktober 1901 en zijn vrouw en zoon blijven achter. Zij blijven in het bovenhuis wonen, en verhuren de winkel. In 1904 vertrekt zoon Cornelis uit Weesp.
Intussen is de familie Ongers nog steeds eigenaar van het huis. Mevrouw Ongers-Pelgrim woont nog altijd boven. Dan komt op 7 mei 1915 zoon Cornelis thuis uit Muiden. Ook hij blijkt bakker te zijn geworden, en zet de bestaande bakkerij van de laatste huurder Kok voort. Op 27 mei 1915 trouwt hij met Apolonia van Kooten (geboren 1889). Zij gaan inwonen bij hun moeder. Deze overlijdt in 1919. Cornelis Ongers en zijn vrouw hebben een dochter: Theodora (Dora), Geboren 1918. Nadat Apolonia in 1928 overlijdt trouwt Cornelis Ongers een tweede keer met Diewertje Hottentot.
