Visser, trawlerschipper en visverkoper..
Woonachtig: rond 1880 in Den Helder.
Woonde kort na zijn huwelijk (1900) in Velsen (IJmuiden), maar kwam op 12/4/1914 weer terug naar Den Helder. Woonde op 26/2/1916 in de Wagenstraat 23 en van 7/4/1924 op het adres Jonkerstraat 20. Is na de dood van zijn moeder gaan wonen in de Stakman Bossestraat 23 (De Blauwe Hal), waar hij ook de vishandel van zijn moeder overnam.

Is waarschijnlijk van de visserij in Den Helder overgegaan naar de Stoomvisscherij Maatschappij Mercurius onder directie van de heer I.S.Groen. Deze had sinds 1863 een vishandel in Den Helder, maar verplaatste in 1898 zijn eerste Nederlandse stoomtrawler "Betsy" HD 348 en zijn kantoor naar IJmuiden. In 1905 wordt Jochem van Loosen voor het eerst genoemd als schipper van de IJM 17 DUBBELMAN. In 1905 is hij schipper van de IJM 17 "Dubbelman", in 1906 schipper van de IJM 130 "Eendracht I", in 1911 schipper van de IJM 15 "Eveline" en in 1914 schipper van de IJM 197 "Zaanstroom IV". Na de dood van zijn moeder (1933) gaat hij in haar huis wonen, Stakman Bossestraat 35, Den Helder en neemt hij haar "visbedrijfje" in de Blauwe Hal over.
