Notes about Anne Katherine van Salm-Kyrburg

Anne-Catherine Dorothée de Salm-Kyrbourg (née le 27 janvier 1614 à Fénétrange et morte le 27 juin 1655 à Stuttgart) est l'épouse du duc Eberhard VII de Wurtemberg (1614-1674).

Elle est la fille du comte Jean-Casimir de Salm-Kyrbourg (1577-1651), un soldat au service de la Suède et le frère du gouverneur de Gibier et de Rheingrafen Jean IX de Kyrbourg-Mörchingen (de), et de sa femme, la comtesse de Dorothée à Solms-Laubach (1579-1631). En tant que militaire dans la guerre de Trente Ans, il était souvent en fuite. À partir de 1635 sa famille réside à Strasbourg.

Après la défaite des Protestants à la bataille de Nördlingen le 6 septembre 1634, Wurtemberg a été pillée et incendiée. Le duc Eberhard, s'enfuit avec sa cour royale en exil à Strasbourg. Là, il rencontre Anne-Catherine et l'épouse le 26 février 1637. Le mariage a été critiqué par les contemporains comme politiquement imprudent. La naissance du premier enfant, au début de septembre, était de nature à générer d'autres critiques.1 Le 30 octobre 1638 la cour revient à Stuttgart.
