Notes about Theodorus Francis Smarius

Verwierf in 1785 de eigendommen van zijn schoonvader en bouwde in 1790 een nieuwe boerderij in de Hasselt (Hasselt 487, afgebroken in 1934). In 1795 gekozen tot lid van de corporele vergadering, waarin hij samen met Jan Vromans en Johan Jan Koolen de Hasselt vertegenwoordigde. Vanaf 1796 burgercapitein voor de Hasselt. Hij vervulde beide functies tot 1798. Was kapelmeester van de Hasseltse kapel vanaf 1796 tot zijn dood in 1832. Hij hield "op nauwgezette wijze" het kasboek bij.
