Ludo Castelein:

Op Jonkershove stond voor 1914 een stenen molen met gaanderij aan de Langemarkstraat. Hij was gebouwd op de vlakke grond. Deze wind-korenmolen was tegelijkertijd pletmolen. De twee pletstenen die rechtop liepen over een doodbed waarin onder meer het lijnzaad werd geplet, kan men nu nog zien liggen naast het huis van Valeer Castelein, waar eens de molen stond.

Deze molen was van een recente datum. Hij zou gebouwd zijn door Henri Castelein die in 1914 nog molenaar was op deze molen. Henri Castelein werd door de Duitsers naar Staden geëvacueerd waar hij tijdens de oorlog overleed.

Men kan zich de vraag stellen of deze molen een broodwinning kon betekenen daar een groot deel van Jonkershove toen nog door bossen was overdekt. Een 'ketser' zorgde echter voor de aanbreng van het graan dat over zand- en slijkwegen werd opgehaald bij de boeren en kleine landgebruikers van heel de omgeving.

In 1922 begon Justin, zoon van Henri, met de uitbating van een machinale maalderij naast het huis aan de Langemarkestraat 36.
