Notes about Daniël FANNIUS

FANNIUS (Mr. Daniël), oudere broeder van Cornelis, geb. te Brouwershaven omstreeks 1618; gestorven in 1681 (vóór 28 Juli). Hij studeerde te Leiden (Album Stud. Acad. Lugd. Bat. op 9 Nov. 1639). Werd fiskaal van de admiraliteit van Zeeland (25 Jan. 1652) en bewindhebber der Oost-Indische Compagnie ter kamer van Zeeland (neemt zitting op 16 April 1668). In het bizonder in de jaren 1661-1663 ijverde hij, in verstandhouding met de Witt, aan wien hij door zijne moeder en door zijne vrouw verwant was, voor een overeenkomst tusschen Holland en Zeeland. In Juni 1673 bezocht hij Pieter de Groot te Antwerpen (Lettres de Pierre de Groot, uitg. Krämer, 128).

Hij huwde Adriana van Blyenburg (geb. 1631), uit welk huwelijk 4 zoons en 2 dochters geboren werden. Is hij de advocaat Fannius, die in 1672 brieven van Joachimi uit Engeland overbrengt (Briefw. Const. Huygens, uitg. Worp, III, 315)?
