Doorke Rijpkema in Spanvis.com/Familie Sterk in Lemmer schrijft:
Wie zijn ouders waren is (nog) niet met zekerheid vastgesteld, er wordt nog verder gezocht naar doopgegevens, mogelijk volgt er later een aanvulling op deze voorouders.
Duidelijk is wel dat er meerdere families Starck in Vreden woonden met waarschijnlijk dezelfde voorouders. Hetzelfde geldt voor de familie Röring.
In Vreden hadden destijds veel families thuis een weefgetouw waarop linnen werd geweven, ook families Starck en Röring. Grondstoffen werden aangevoerd over de
Berkel die destijds goed bevaarbaar was. In augustus 1811 werd het grootste deel van de stad Vreden door brand vernietigd. In het museum van Vreden zijn enkele weefgetouwen bewaard gebleven.
Gerardus trouwde op 17 april 1779 te Vreden met Elisabeth Anna Röring. Getuigen bij dit huwelijk waren Gerardus Nienhaus en Antonius Röring.
Kinderen van Gerardus en Elisabeth:
1. Henrica (Illegitima), gedoopt op 29 maart 1779, overleden op 5 december 1842.
Peetouders: Henrick Röring en Anna Starck. Henrica werd als kind erkend toen haar ouders enkele weken na haar geboorte trouwden.
2. Joan Henrickus Antonius, gedoopt te Vreden op 12 december 1780.
Peetouders: Henricus Starck en Helena Röring.
3. Joannes Antonius, geboren te Vreden op 23 november 1781. (zie 48)
Peetouders: Joan Starck en Anna Röring.
4. Joan Henricus, geboren te Vreden op 9 februari 1784.
Peetouders: Marcellus Starck en Anna Eefering.
5. Joanna Gesina, geboren te Vreden op 31 januari 1786.
Peetouders: Gerardus Henricus Röring en Maria Francisca Starck..
6. Martha Adelheid, geboren te Vreden op 22 november 1787, gedoopt op 23 november, hierbij wordt ook vermeld Martha Elisabeth 1787.
Peetouders: Joan Henricus Starck en Euphemia Gebring (Gevering/Gevers)
7. Maria Margaretha, geboren te Vreden op 25 maart 1789.
Peetouders: Joan Lambert Gebring en Gertrud Starck.
