Notes about Wessel Kemink

Woonde in Kethel en verhuisde kort voor 1778 naar Pernis. In 1778 wordt voor het eerst de naam Kemink in Pernis vermeld, als Wessel zijn dochter Elsje in de Pernisse kerk laat dopen. Wessel en zijn vrouw waren afkomstig uit het pruisische gedeelte van het dorp Dinxperlo in de gelderse Achterhoek. Het dorp Dinxperlo werd en wordt door de rijksgrens met Duitsland (vroeger het Koninkrijk Pruisen), in tweeën gedeeld. Het duitse gedeelte heet nog altijd Suederwick - of in het Nederlands Zuiderwijk. Wessel moet daar omstreeks 1740 zijn geboren, want in de overlijdensakte van 27 mei 1815 wordt vermeld dat hij 75 jaar oud is, "nalatende drie kinderen en weduwnaar van Annetje Castijn". Zijn vrouw overleed twee jaar eerder op 62-jarige leeftijd. In de trouwakte van zoon IJsbrand worden de ouders van zijn ouders vermeld, die allen zijn overleden in de Zuiderwijk - Ambt Bocholt - Koninkrijk Pruisen. Wessel en zijn vrouw worden beiden vermeld in het lidmatenregister van de Hervormde Gemeente van Pernis.
