In de Amsterdamse doopregisters komt in tussen 1680 en 1700 tweemaal een "Dirk de Klerk" voor.--- De eerste is: "Derk de Klerck woonende in mijn wijk in de Lindestraat is van mijn ondersocht in de voornaamste gronden van de gereformeerde religie en nogh niet gedoopt zijnde werdt bij deesen geadmitteert om gedoopt te worden ams... deesen 18 december 1693. Was getekent Adrianus van Oostrum, eccl. ibd." --- De tweede is Dirck Klerk, vader Dirk Dircksz Klerk, moeder Johanna ter Meulen, doop 14-4-1694.
