In de eerste uitgave van het v.d. Linde Boek staat Roelof vermeld als stamvader van een ander geslacht van der Linde dan het Vollenhoofse geslacht van der Linde. De naam "van der Linde" is echter in de DTB boeken van Vollenhove voor personen uit dit geslacht nergens te vinden. (misschien wel in gerechterlijke archieven?). Vanwege dit feit is de achternaam voor dit geslacht weggehaald.
