Ik heb vanaf mijn 8e jaar pianoles gehad van Hieke ferwerda-van der Wal. Eerst op de NieuweBuren op de muziekschool , daarna prive bij haar thuis.
ik heb een bijzondere band met haar gehad en gehouden, vooral omdat ze mij begeleid heeft naar mijn toelating op het Conservatorium. Zoals zij ben ik tot op heden pianodocent. Ook na mijn lessen bij haar hebben ik en mijn ouders contact met haar gehouden. Zij was bij mijn huwelijksfeeest in 1980. Ik heb haar opgezocht in de 90er jaren in Vledder, waar ze later woonde, toen bleek dat ze al opgenomen was in een verpleeghuis in Meppel, Ik heb haar daar nog bezocht, ze heeft mij nog herkend, enige tijd daarna is zij gestorven. Voor mij heeft zij een bijzondere rol in mijn leven gespeeld
