Notes about Ida Lucretia Jones

22 Mar 2011 Ida Lucretia Orvis, 80, of Midland, died Tuesday afternoon, March 22, 2011, at Kindy AFC Home in Midland. She was born Aug. 6, 1930, in Fremont, Ind., daughter of the late Jasper and Iva (Binkley) Jones. Ida lived in Angola, Ind. until her marriage to Ronald L. She remained a resident of Midland for the past 51 years where she raised her family, and along with her husband owned and operated Orvis Farm Market for 20 years. Ida enjoyed her friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her smile would light up a room whenever they were around. They will always remember her drink of choice, Kool Aid with a splash of Sunny D. When Ida wasn't hugging her grandkids you could find her playing solitaire, doing a word search, gardening or crocheting. She had been a member of the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints. Ida is survived by her husband, Ronald; children, Jonnie (Mark) Hinson, Rod Orvis, Dawn (Doug) Aho, Dean Orvis, Mike (Shelly) Orvis, Curt Orvis, and Kelli Orvis; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a sister, Lena Huffnagle; brothers, Bill (Sally) Jones, and Melvin (Eleanor) Jones. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Ruth Harper, Gladys Subcowski, Edith Wilms, Mabel Ford, and a brother, Gerald Jones.
