31, 2013 Anderson Madison County Indiana, USA Daniel E. Klopfenstein, 43, of Botkins, died suddenly 9:30 p.m., Friday. May 31, 2013, at St. Vincent Regional Hospital, Anderson, Ind., following an apparent heart attack. He was born Jan. 12, 1970, in St. Marys, the son of the Mary Lou (Eyink) Klopfenstein and the late Dale Klopfenstein. Other survivors include, a sister, Judy (Steve) Thaman, of Botkins; two brothers, Rick Klopfenstein, of Wapakoneta and Robert Klopfenstein, Jackson Center; five nieces and nephews, Heather Thaman, Jessica Thaman, Amber Green, Matthew (Kathryn) Klopfenstein, and Melissa (Jacob) Westerheide; and three great-nieces and -nephews. Daniel was a 1988 graduate of Botkins High School. He began working in Indiana in 2000 to pursue his love for horses and worked as a horse trainer for the past 13 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, watching sports, playing cards, and attending horse races. Daniel had a great love for animals and a kind and calming disposition towards them which made him such a successful trainer. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Botkins, with the Rev. Patrick Sloneker officiating. Burial is to follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Botkins.
