Notes about Martha Delilah Smith

Dear Cousins --8111 Stanford Ave. Space 134 Nov. 4, 1963 Garden Grove, Ca. Recieved your letter of October 15th and fully intended to answer long before this, but time gets away from one these days. My father was Peter Smith, born May 10, 1865, passed away on Aug.2, 1945. My mother was Cora Ann Brooks/ Smith , born Aug. 8, 1868 , passed away on Oct. 27, 1903 There were 3 children of this union, Lavancha Smith / Hubbell , passed away Aug. 18, 1957 She was born Feb 23, 1885. Andrew J.Smith born July 27, 1899 and passed away on Jan. 7, 1962. And I was born on Aug. 10, 1891 . My father and mother were married on March 29, 1883. My father re married to Jennie Ann Gaylord/ Smith on April 29, 1909,and she passed away on Sep. 30, 1950. There were no children of that union. My father was a farmer when I was young, after mother passed away he went to work in the oil fields , I think near Bern, Indiana . Later to Oklahoma oil fields as a pumper, and remained there 30 years, until they retired him. He then bought another farm in Michigan, near Union City . Sold it serveral years later, bought another one near Detroit and had sold it a short time before he died. I believe there is a daughter of Andrew Smith , her given name is Ona, but I haven't the faintest idea where she lives or her last name. Also Charles had 2 daughters Elva and Rena. I did hear about 8 years ago from Rena Green, but have no idea where she is now, lost her address. However I have a cousin Marie Kays , 403 E. Perry St, Bryan., Ohio who may be able to give you some information, she is the daughter of Nettie Meyers. Andrew Smith had 2 sons and 1 girl, Ona and the boys names were Johnny and Erwin , I think. Been so long since I have thought of them, having not heard from them in years. Iam 72 years old as of last Aug. 10th and my husband Albert Gilbert retired last year, we are still living in a mobil home in a lovely park about 35 miles from Los Angels, California. We sold our apartments, there and are now enjoying life for a change. I hope that I have given you the data you wished. It is all I have at any rate. I just found that dad was born in Auglaize Co., Ohio and mother in Clear Lake or Angola, not sure. All we children were born in Ohio. Very cordially , your cousin Martha Gilbert
