He was born on March 13, 1912 in Gladwin Township , a son of Peter and Fern Switzer / Blank. Harold married Francis Marie Merkle on April 23, 1934 in Wagarville. He worked for Dow Corning , retiring in 1976. He also farmed . He was a member of the Gladwin Free Methodist Church . Besides his wife he is survived by one daughter , Joyce and her husband Duane Cameron of Gladwin. Also by two sons , Bernard and his wife Lois of Lake Orion. And also his son Gerald and wife Linda of Saginaw , two sisters Evelyn Leser and Geraldine Gerhouser both of Bay City, Michigan. Also one sister in law Doris Blank of Gladwin , two brother in laws Elmer Wells of Sanford , Mi and Jim Wendt of Pinconning, plus 16 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 3 Great Great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 5 sisters . Services were held at 1 pm Monday at the Gladwin Free Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Marshall officating. Memorials may be made to the Mid Michigan Hospice of West Branch , Gladwin Free Methodist Church or the Gladwin Pines Activity Center , Sisson Funeral Home in Gladwin was in charge
